Hola everyone!

Just in case you haven't noticed the title of this website, my name is Anna Maria Garza. I am a Florida based artist, apparel designer, costume designer, and wardrobe stylist. My experience ranges from original fine art to digital art, from apparel and costume design to graphic design, all the way to accessory design, home decor, product design, to creative directing and team management. I love history, anthropology, and archaeology. As you can see in my work, these along with my Chicano and Indigenous heritage, are where I draw much of my artistic inspiration.

My career experience is wide ranging, enveloping many different aspects of the art and apparel industries. I have designed and hand made accessories in Paris for celebrities, flat patterned for garment factories, styled photoshoots, did image consultation and wardrobe styling for music bands and fashion models, and have worked as the head costume designer for film.

As creativity in new artistic challenges fuels me, I always love a new and unconventional creative challenge. Bring your idea to me and we will figure out how to make it happen!

Always fashioning everywhere I go!

For my university education, I earned my degrees at FSU in Apparel Design, Merchandising, Textiles & Consumer Sciences, and Business. As someone who is constantly learning and always striving to improve my talents, as well as my understanding of art, design, and their relationships to and effect on humans, I am currently working part-time towards my next degrees--this time in Anthropology/Archaeology and Psychology. My focus in these degrees is in Latin American studies, specifically the decorative arts created during transitional periods of cultural introductions and clashes, the affect of these clashes on the psyche and culture of the involved peoples during these periods, and the conservation and preservation of the art created during these periods of transition.

I have worked in exciting places across the globe, including Paris, Japan, and NYC, all the while adapting to the cultures and needs of these varying demographics and markets. It has been a wide-ranging and wonderful way to learn these industries from the inside out.

My life, education, and work have together permitted me to experience the art and apparel design worlds in all their various facets--  while in college, going from a sales associate to managing retail stores and being a visual marketing manager, to designing apparel collections along with their graphics, to creating apparel patterns, on to styling fashion photoshoots, designing and implementing visual marketing for brands, writing brand press releases, all the way to creating custom work for clients and restoring vintage and antique garments, and then finally to showing my art in museums and homes around the world.

All these experiences culminating in creating and running my own multi-faceted retail brand and clothing line, named REHCY and REHCY VONNE, which I currently own and run, along with selling my art to clients and customers in over 25 countries.
